How far is the Lodge from the next Ski ressort
The Bauernlodge is 8 km from the family resort Hoch Imst. Larger ressorts can be found at e.g. Hochzeiger.
Some of the largest resorts in Austria are Serfaus or Sölden. Secure snow conditions from Octobner till May can be found at the Pitztal Gletscher and Kaunertal.
Do we need a car in Strad?
You can find dozens of adventures in the near surrounding of the Bauernlodge. For most of them a bicycle is sufficient to get to the starting point. But the Bauernlodge is also a perfect base camp as we are located in the center of Tyrol.
How can I get to the Bauernlodge
Coming from Munich you can take the Fernpass road via Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Fernpass road is also perfect for travelers coming from A7 via Füssen.
Travelers from Bodensee or Salzburg should take the Inntal highway A12. This is also the way to take in case of bad (winter) conditions at the Fernpass.
